A short story about Histroy Of Coffee
History Of Coffee In Nepal
Coffee was first introduced to Nepal in the late 1930s, thanks to the efforts of a visionary farmer and entrepreneur from the Gulmi district. He brought coffee seeds from abroad and planted them in the hills near his village, where the climate proved ideal for cultivation.
As the plants began to thrive, neighboring farmers took notice. In a spirit of community, the seeds were shared, and what started as a small experiment gradually spread from one farm to another.
Over time, coffee cultivation expanded across the country. Today, Nepal grows coffee in multiple districts, producing high-quality beans that are now enjoyed not only locally but also internationally. Nepali coffee has found its way to markets in the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and beyond.
From humble beginnings in the hills of Gulmi to cups around the world — Nepal’s coffee journey continues to grow.
A Global Journey
Coffee’s story began in Ethiopia and spread across the world, becoming one of the most consumed beverages globally. Along the way, it evolved into a symbol of culture, connection, and daily ritual.
Today, Nepal is entering one of the most exciting phases in its coffee journey producing rich, distinctive coffee shaped by the Himalayan landscape.
